Our athletes always come back home with the medals of world competitions, and in 2017 and in 2017 they will have an opportunity to win medals in the native land. Besides, we have an extra opportunity to test ourselves at the threshold of the 2019 Winter Universiade, where ski orienteering is included into the programme as an optional sport. And I'm sure all the guests and participants of this competition will remember Krasnoyarsk starts with great pleasure and will do come to us for the Universiade", - the Minister of sports of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Sergey Alekseev said.

The World Ski Orienteering Championships will be held in Krasnoyarsk from the 5th to 13th of March, 2017. Over 150 athletes from 25 countries of the world will compete in 6 disciplines of the programme. These competitions will become a test event in ski orienteering and they will give an opportunity to test the venues readiness, to develop the team’s unity, to find out mistakes and correct them before 2019.
