First meeting of Coordination Council for preparation and delivery of Universiade held in Krasnoyarsk
The first meeting of the Coordination Council for the preparation and delivery of the 2019 Universiade headed by the Governor of the Region Victor Tolokonsky took place in Krasnoyarsk. The Head of the Region informed about the events put into action by the Universiade Directorate as well as about working plans for the nearest future. The region and city’s managers, members of the Sports Federations and Public Organizations are in the Council’s team.

The Director General of the ANO “Executive Directorate of the 29th Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk” Maxim Urazov told Victor Tolokonsky about the working process concerning the additional works and coordination of the future Universiade’s venues. Along with that, the first stage of the functional operational plans’ development is over. There are 49 of them: “Transportation”, “Accommodation”, “Catering”, “Cultural events” and others. The first suggestions on the working process during the Games has been made for each of these items – hotels amount and catering facilities have been analyzed, the approximate volunteers’ demand has been determined and etc. Also, four meetings of the Universiade Discussion Club, where the main venues of the up-coming Games were discussed, were held in Krasnoyarsk. Everyone had an opportunity to become the Club’s member.

After Maxim Urazov’s report, the Council’s members made their assumptions about the vision of Krasnoyarsk in 2019. According to the audience’s opinion, first of all it is necessary to pay attention to the transport system’s development – to change the approach to the municipal transportation and taxi carriage. Also, it is necessary to analyze other cities’ experiences and choose the most successful example of the public cleansing organization. The participants of the meet supported the idea of changing the advertising concept of Krasnoyarsk.

“The Universiade should change the city, make it more comfortable for living. It is necessary to renew its visual appearance, amend social and cultural traditions; we need to be on another level of the mass sports activities, and also, what is very important, to build and modernize our social venues: hospitals and sports facilities. We have to work hard and I’m sure, that we have a chance to hold these Games properly and possess a rich legacy by collaboration between the professional community and the citizens”, - Victor Tolokonsky told.
